Tourism sector takes steps to recover market amid new COVID-19 outbreak

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) is making preparations for a recovery of the tourism market amid a new COVID-19 outbreak.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has requested tourism departments of localities nationwide to promptly take measures to ensure safety for tourists in the face of the complex developments of COVID-19.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the JMA Global of international supermodel Jessica Minh Anh signed a cooperation agreement on July 28 on promoting Vietnam’s destinations as well as tourism products and services.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will collaborate with national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines to boost the introduction of Vietnamese tourism to the world, following a Memorandum of Understanding signed between two sides in Ha Noi on December 24.
- In the context of the slowing growth of international visitors arrivals, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism - VNAT (under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) organized the conference seeking the solution to attract more international tourists to Viet Nam.

International tourist arrivals have risen to an all-time high with more than 7.57 million so far this year, up 10.6% over the same period in 2012 and even higher than the target set for 2015, according to the General Statistics Department.
Winners of the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2012, the most prestigious in the sector, were announced at a ceremony in Hanoi on December 4.
Dubbed as the “Junction of Indochina” on the Truong Son Range, the Central Highland province of Kon Tum is endowed with remarkable strengths and conditions to develop tourism.
